Materials Coordinator

MATERIAL COORDINATORS- JD42

WAGE: $20/HOUR

HOURS: 1ST SHIFT, 6am to 230pm with possible overtime working 6am to 430pm, may include some evening hours and some Saturdays

CONTRACT: ONSITE, UP TO 4 YEARS IN LENGTH

 

Description:

Coordinates the flow of materials and the filling of Kanbans in a department of the factory, which may include shipping and receiving. Ensures that the production personnel have the parts they need in order to produce the desired product. Oversees and ensures that the inventory is correct and on time and identifies problems and makes suggestions involving production schedules. Ensures material logistics follow  Production Systems principles. Coordinates the activities for the tactical execution of a production plan within a smaller group of the factory. Typically an initial position in the organization. Duties: Coordinates department(s) schedule performance for procuring, expediting, the movement of rejected material to source. Recommends procedures for specific situations that will maintain inventory accuracy and management. Finds root cause of material shortages. May provide recommendations for solutions. Utilizes Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedules. May include the processing of transactions for inbound/outbound materials. Audits material replenishment cycles and accuracy and may create material replenishment plans with assistance. Counts and resolves inventory errors and expedites parts to ensure uninterrupted production. Works critical shortage reports to ensure part availability.

Specific Position Requirements:

 

Support production departments/employees on part shortages or problems and drive for resolution and root cause of issues. In addition, communicate issues/resolution to the appropriate module representatives for follow up, provide recommendations for solutions, resolve consumption errors, maintain inventory accuracy/management, and implement engineering release and change management processes.

 

Bachelor’s degree is not required, but preferred

Must Haves:

  • Ability to work off-shift hours and overtime, as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Material flow, Inventory Control or Supply Management experience

 

1st Shift, Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm or 6am – 4:30pm. May include a few extra evening hours and some Saturdays. Please be advised that Saturdays are only scheduled as needed which is generally one or so per month.

BUYER ROLE

Job Description

Responsible for re-ordering products and maintaining inventory. Individual will also be responsible for reacting to assigned buyer’s emails as well as warehouse problems, UPC additions, and line review requests. Will provide planogram assistance as well as respond to other requests for needed assistance.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience: 3 – 6 months related

    Job Duties

  • Monitor Product Lines
    o Reorder to maintain store stock levels
    o Monitor inventory movement by computer
    o Followup on order shipments and back orders
    o Load new items, update prices
    o Make suggestions to improve sales, productivity, communication, turns and ROI

  • o Invoice Corrections

  • Assist with AD Preparation
    o Order and ensure that advertised inventory is in stock

  • Order Merchandise
    o Complete purchase orders and/or initiate transfers
    o Compare inventory and project need. Communicate trends to buyer(s) o Assist with special orders
    o Correspond with vendors on product availability and order status

  • Answer Correspondence from Store Associates o Answer questions about products
    o Give advice to solve problems
    o Take store requests

    o Follow up on all Correspondence–Emails, phone, special orders, etc.

  • Stay Informed

    o Evaluate reports

  • Other duties as requested by management may include, but will not be limited to:

    o Help in the warehouse

  • o Assist with inventories

OR Inventory Specialist – Materials Management – Full Time – Days

Requires an associates degree in business administration or related field or would consider two years of related purchasing experience in lieu of formal education.

 

Must have a minimum of one to two years of related purchasing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Customer Service Tech – Home Medical Equipment – Full Time Days

Performs all duties related to delivery, set up, installation and/or fitting of home medical equipment including oxygen. Ensures equipment is appropriate and safe for use by the client/caregiver and instructs on use of the equipment following guidelines, regulatory standards, and policies/procedures. Ensures that the client/caregiver understand and can demonstrate the instructions given. Prepares all equipment/supplies for delivery and ensures it is in proper working order. Schedules deliveries in a cost effective and efficient manner. Communicates to client all pertinent company services and billing information in accordance with policies/procedures and ensures the client’s understanding of such. Obtains, completes and processes documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Assists with inventory management, restocking, cleaning equipment, preventive maintenance and routine repairs. Assists in orientation and training of staff and quality improvement activities as requested.  Personally adheres to the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center Citizenship Standards and Customer Service Standards.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have current operator’s license with a good driving record. Knowledge or background in home medical equipment preferred.

Laser Programmer / Nester

The ideal Laser Programmer / Nester candidate will read, understand and interpret blue prints, have a working knowledge of sheet metal, have experience with AutoCad Inventor Software and be willing to learn the nesting software NCell.  The position requires the programming, setting up, and scheduling of sheet metal parts for laser cutting.  This individual will work closely with the laser operators as well as Fabrication supervisor to determine priorities and also the Purchasing Department to maintain inventory of raw materials. Candidates must be cooperative in a team environment, and have a great working attitude

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Nest and schedule laser cutting jobs
  • Assist laser operators at machines
  • Minimize waste and optimize use of full sheets of steel
  • Maintain inventory of material
  • Generate fabrication drawings and parts
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

  • AutoCad Inventor experience
  • Ability to interpret blue prints
  • Working knowledge of bending deductions
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • 2 year CAD degree preferred
  • Candidate must be reliable, regular attendance is required
  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision while meeting all product quality requirements
  • Full time position, 1st shift: Monday-Thursday, 5am-3:15pm
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
