Hispanic Outreach Specialist

The Hispanic Outreach Specialist works to build on current pre-college services and enhance outreach activities to build trusted relationships and on-going community dialogues between UW-Platteville and tristate Hispanic communities. This person will provide consistent outreach to these communities in effort to better serve them, as well as to create an educational pipeline and access for students within these communities. The salary range for this position is $43,870-$46,000/year. Priority review of applications will begin December 18, 2021 and review of applications will begin immediately.

70% – Programming and Community Outreach.

20% – Leadership within the department.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Hispanic communities, the dynamics within and issues they may face.
  • Knowledge of the K-12 education system.
  • Working knowledge of college readiness, financial literacy and recruitment strategies that affect access to education, retention, and achievement gap for underrepresented minority students.
  • Current and valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • Requires a professional who is detail-oriented, takes direction well, has the capacity to be a leader and a role model, and can work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of outreach methods and activities for historically underrepresented students.
  • Experience in community organizing/event planning.
  • Ability to understand, interpret laws, regulations, policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse clientele in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide dynamic hands-on activities, lead community discussions and provide engaging presentations to students, families and community members.

Senior Financial Analyst-Global Supply Chain

Strategic business advisor and champion of long-term value creation.  Analyzes financial and operational data to identify opportunities to improve profitable growth and guide leadership decisions. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis for sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, and logistics to aid leadership in making fact-based data driven business decisions.
  • Partner with operations to establish and report KPIs to drive improved safety, quality, delivery, and cost in the global supply chain.
  • Perform ROI analysis and evaluate supply chain investment to optimize cost and service.
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results and communicate recommendations on key performance drivers to leadership
  • Assist in the development and achievement of annual operating plans and financial forecasts.
  • Work cross functionally to identify opportunities to simplify supply chain processes to drive efficiency and improve customer experience. 
  • Develop and implement repeatable financial analysis and reports.
  • Advise organization on financial matters to build organizational financial literacy.
  • Delivers financial results and analysis to leadership utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborates with peers to complete special projects while effectively managing multiple priorities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to complete projects and tasks independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3-5 years’ professional experience in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience in manufacturing, sourcing, and distribution preferred
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications
  • Previous experience with SAP preferred
  • 20% domestic travel is required
