Position Summary: |
The Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) and Engineering Physics (EP) departments are seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to both departments. Responsibilities for this position will include serving as the primary administrative support resource for both departments, working under general Department Chair supervision, and will include administrative support, budgeting, records management, outreach activities, and more. A December start date is desired, or as soon as possible thereafter. Hourly rate for this position is $17.50-$20.00 commensurate with experience. |
Responsibilities: |
– Provide administrative support and maintain efficient office management for both the CSSE and EP departments. – Perform purchasing and maintain documentation related to CSSE and EP departmental accounts and other university accounts (grants, UW-Platteville Foundation funds, etc.) managed by the faculty and staff in the CSSE and EP departments. – Serve as the primary contact person for the CSSE and EP departments. – Supervise departmental student help including assisting with job postings and payroll procedures. |
What You’ll Need to Succeed: |
Required Qualifications: -High School Diploma/GED. – Proficient computer and web-application knowledge, including office productivity software such as email, calendaring, word processing, and database programs. -Strong organizational skills especially pertaining to budget, payroll, and procurement records. -Excellent oral and written communication skills. – Willingness to develop proficiency with specialized university software programs necessary to perform the duties required for this position -Ability to work independently and confidentially with students, faculty, staff, administration, and external constituents. -Attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: -Experience working with, analyzing, and/or reporting data. -Administrative support and/or office management experience. – Experience with budgeting and/or procurement.
