Quality Assurance Inspector

Universal Tank & Fabrication is currently seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Inspector.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Teach, train, implement and follow through with Customer, ASME and UTF quality requirements using both established procedures and independent judgment.  Assist in training all new Employees on the proper welding procedures to meet requirements.  Provide ongoing proactive leadership by setting a good example for others to follow in all areas surrounding employment practices at UTF.

Quality Compliance

Review and sign off on parts, paint and finished products for Quality compliance.

Create

Focus on innovative concepts for tools and fixtures to improve productivity and quality of the process by utilizing creative thinking skills.

Quality

UTF’s Goal is 0 defects.  Teach individuals how to check their work, verify the layout completed by others is correct and how to create welds which meet Customer and ASME requirements.  Demonstrate and guide how to set the machines (ie: welders, etc.) so work conforms to the requirements/specifications. 

Technical Support

Establish consistent standards for all to follow. Be available to answer questions regarding drawing details and interpretation, attaining answers from engineering and/or manager.  Utilize problem solving skills while focusing on safety and enforcing that consistent standards are being followed.  

Communication

Establish working relationships surrounded by communication. Communicate significant issues to Quality Manager and/or Management Team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, Extensive Welding Experience, Innovative problem-solving abilities, Advanced Blueprint reading skill and interpretations, Moderate math skills, Excellent communication skills, Harbor and Promote Positive Team Environment, Experience in hand-operated power tools, Experience of cleaning and preparing steel for welding, Must pass Yaeger 2 vision test at no less than 12″ and standard color vision tests administered by UTF, Flexibility in work shift to meet customer requirements, Possess valid Driver’s License, Be Open and Able to learn new methods and teach others the learned skills, Able and willing to work in confined spaces (ie: tanks, etc.) for inspections, Occasional travel may be required, Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

Mechanical Technician

We are currently looking for Mechanical Technicians to join our team! As a Mechanical Technician you will assemble high quality refrigeration systems.  This will include coordinating all aspects of mechanical piping layout, brazing, conducting leak testing, attaching sheet metal material to system, among other duties.  No previous brazing experience is required! Each employee will go through four weeks of classroom training on brazing, welding, blueprint reading, etc.  Employees will also spend approximately four weeks job shadowing and receiving on the job training at our plant located in Ramsey, MN.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
