A local Dyersville, Iowa manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager who will lead and be part of a collaborative team of responsible for executing the organizations Quality Management System in accordance with SQF requirements and internal strategic objectives. The right fit candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and possess SQF, HACCP / HARPC professional working experience. This is an on-site direct hire opportunity, meaning, the best fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company payroll and receive their robust benefits package. There are two direct reports to this position: Laboratory Technician and Sanitation Technician.
What you get to do (in a snap-shot):
- Spearhead the overall effectiveness of company’s Quality Program to include overseeing and implementing: HACCP, SQF, GMP, PCQI and other food safety and quality programs for the plant.
- Develop a comprehensive Quality Plan outlining practices and standard operating procedures, resources, and activities for company products.
- Act as the go-to representative for regulatory bodies
- Conduct GMP and sanitation audits
- Provide leadership, training and support to all plant employees on Quality and GMP issues. Conduct food safety, SQF-Required, and other necessary training annually and as needed.
- Aid in conducting root cause analysis and utilizes other quality / problem solving techniques to resolve quality issues.
- Supervise quality department personnel to ensure timely completion of objectives.
What we’d like you to bring to the opportunity:
- Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent.
- SQF Practitioner certified (preferred)
- HACCP / HARPC certified (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance and control within the food / beverage, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills and proven leadership skills
